Mr. Mohawk Award

This job allowed me to take a role not just as a Resident Assistant. But also as a mentor, mediator, and a leader. After being a part of the Residence Hall staff for a year, I was able to take a leadership role and help hire and train others incoming Resident Assitant. By mentoring residents and training new resident assistant, I was able to demonstrate essential leadership qualities such as motivating and mentoring. Consequently, my job performance led to receiving the “Mr. Mohawk Award.”

International Students Leadership Award

In 2013 while attending, Onondaga Community College, I was elected to serve as President of the college’s International Student Club.

During my presidency,I  organized several fundraising programs including design and selling International Student Club T-shirt.  I served as Student Ambassador to help prospective and newly enrolled students, and volunteed at various college activities such as; Human book library, Donations to the OCC Foundation and other types of events. I also volunteered at the Multicultural Fair for ICS at West Genesee High School with other OCC students.

As a result of my leadership activities, I was awarded the college’s student “Civic Award” for the commitment and active participation in community service activities. I was also award by the Internation community students of Central New York for International Students Leadership Award.
